, The sixth grade curriculum is devoted to the study of God's saving love as it is revealed in Sacred Scripture, particularly the Old Testament. Christianity is a lifelong relationship with God. This relationship grows and changes as we grow into adulthood. It is at this time in our children's lives that we need to not only teach the foundations of our faith but also nurture the faith that lies within them... to nurture their spiritual well-being. Through our study, students increase their knowledge of salvation history so that they may respond to God with ever-deepening love and gratitude.
We will incorporate many religious opportunities into our religion classes in the form of classroom prayer services, mass celebrations, and multiple grade prayer services. The students will plan, as well as participate in, these experiences of our Catholic faith. Students will also journal throughout their year on their faith and what God is calling them to do and be.
As an extension of our faith experience, we reach out with the other grades to nurture our faith relationships within our community. Some of our highlights include our Houses of Faith, Faith Friends, and service projects.
